Pete Rose makes the New York Times bestseller list with his confession about gambling on baseball while working as a manager for the Reds, and ESPN is working on a Pete Rose movie: Furthest along is “Hustle: The Pete Rose Story,” which has added timeliness with Rose’s admission that he bet on baseball while managing the Cincinnati Reds in the 1980s. Rose, the all-time hits leader, was banned from the game in 1989 by then-Commissioner Bart Giamatti for gambling. Meanwhile, Hank Aaron has come out and admonished Rose, saying that he doesn’t think Rose was sincere in his appearance. Who knows what to believe from Charlie Hustle any more?
