Microsoft to enter music download arena in 2004 |
Originally reported by The Wall Street Journal, USA Today is reporting: Microsoft to launch its own download service sometime in 2004. They will be competing against Apple’s iTunes, RealNetworks’ Rhapsody and others. This is interesting because they will be competing with partners that helped make their format competitive in this market: Napster 2.0, Musicmatch, Musicnow and to a lesser extent Buymusic.com. Rhapsody (MP3 format) and iTunes (AAC format) do not use Windows Media Format. Wonder when Microsoft is going to start making its own blogging software? (a Word and/or Front Page feature in the next version perhaps?)
Did this post make you go hmm?
