Crosswalk Negligence |
No Script School radio show tomorrow, it’s postponed until next Friday 11/14/03. This morning a lady blew through a crosswalk and hit my wife and oldest son with her car. My wife was thrown up over her hood and slammed into the road and my son hit the street hard and had his cheek badly bruised. The crosswalk where this happened has been the place where others have been hit by cars and injured before. I have a lot of things to say about crosswalks and pedestrians having the right of way, but I’m going to simply post this picture of the hospital hallway for now.

Did this post make you go hmm?

My prayers for both for a speedy complete recovery.

[…] This morning I took my wife to get another MRI. She’s been to dozens of doctor’s appointments trying to run down what happened to her body after my son and her were hit in the middle of the crosswalk by a car in November 2003. She’s never been the same physically since, living in almost constant pain, and she even gets skittish around crosswalks. […]

[…] On November 2003 I wrote about my wife and oldest son being hit in the middle of a crosswalk. My son escaped the accident with only minor injuries. Today my wife who has been in nearly constant pain since that time goes in for surgery. Part of me wants to go Hulk at drivers who don’t stop for pedestrians. Another part of me wants to go down and videotape how many people still don’t stop at the same crosswalk for pedestrians. An elderly gentleman who rode around in a cart was hit by a car in the same crosswalk and killed. […]

[…] CrosswalkNegligence.com (site doesn’t exist) would be a site where I’d contribute. My wife’s health hasn’t been the same since being hit in the middle of a crosswalk (November 2003) by a woman who couldn’t bother to take five minutes to defrost all her windows. I could stop at any crosswalk and fill this site up with photos of drivers yapping on cellphone completely unaware that people are waiting to cross the road. […]
