Haven’t gone out and bought the new Microsoft Office 2003, but I have been reading a little bit about Office 2003 already and the list of new Office 2003 features is impressive. The last Office product I bought was Word 6.0 so I’m probably not the ideal Office prospect these days. Every two months I do Microsoft Playtesting and when I got the call recently to be profiled for attending a session I was told that those in these sessiosn will no longer be offered the ability to get Office as a complimentary for our volunteering. Are they tired of testers turning around and selling this comped software on eBay? I wondered about the testers who would choose some $40 XBox game instead of going for Office. Bummer, because that was a killer deal, which equated to roughly $200-300 for two hours “work”, gas and travel time to Redmond. They did say that individual Office products could be chosen as a gift, just not the whole package any more.
