Low charge: Segway users take a fall |
Apparently if the battery gets low and there is a sudden jolt, this requires extra battery voltage and can cause riders to fall and possible injury. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall of some 6,000 Segways. The company has issued a software upgrade which fixes the issue. Those might remember President Bush falling off the scooter and at the time I poked a little fun at him. With this new information, I owe the President an apology: sorry, Mr. Bush, make sure the Secret Service checks the Segway for a battery low light next time. Maybe I should remove from my Amazon wish list?
