Make your site more Googlebot friendly |
In: Help the Googlebot understand your web site Gina gives common sense ideas how to make your webpages be Google spider friendly. I like her disclaimer: I’m no Google expert or employee, and I’m no SEO. As a matter of fact, SEOs who charge exorbitant amounts of money for “proprietary, secret” methods of upping your site’s placement in Google results are thieves. Her blog entry reminded me a bit of the article, Just Be Relevant, that I wrote on April 18, 2001. I quickly found it by typing in that title of the article into Google. I saw that this article was #11 out of 6,750,000 results for the title keywords Googled after 2 1/2 years have passed. No alterations, no trickery: just being relevant. So there is thousands of dollars worth of SEO advice absolutely, positively free. But don’t believe me, really, the alternative is to play neverending cat and mouse games with the SE programmers, skirting the razor’s edge of having one’s website(s) banned. No thanks.
