Google pulls sites that allow unauthorized Kazaa downloading |
Sharman Networks flexed its legal muscle to rid the net of the unauthorized Kazaa program (lite) which removes the ads. They sent a legal challenge to Google who responded by remove eight websites allowing downloads from its index. This unauthorized program competes with Sharman Networks’ own Kazaa plus. Is this ultimate irony or poetic justice? Kazaa is a peer-to-peer program that is used to download mp3 and movies (often illegally) and yet they are upset that someone cracked their program and several sites are distributing it. No honor among thieves, I guess. Hmm.
