Google’s Page Rank, weblogs and the future |
Jeremy thinks Google’s Page Rank is dead, because of how his blog is being treated by search results. First there was speculation and now I believe it’s even more solid that Google is going to do something with weblogs. Perhaps it will be a special search flag or an entire tab devoted strictly to blogs like they do with images. The problem, from a technical perspective is not all blogs look like, well, blogs and some websites might as well be blogs. I’m sure Google will do a good job with this, just like they’ve done with search results. Their strategy of buying Pyra Labs seems pretty obviously to be able to analyze blogs and figure out how they can better filter them. Is a filter for weblogs really so bad? Less pool of searches for those with blogs if not mixed in with websites …
